Built on a rocky promontory jutting into the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, the Beacon Island Hotel has an unrivalled panorama. The majestic Outeniqua Mountains form a theatrical backdrop to the Beacon Island Hotel. Here the sea changes from turquoise to purple and the astonishingly beautiful white beaches stretch into infinity.
Just minutes away from the unspoilt Tsitsikamma forests and the delightful village of Plettenberg Bay, the Beacon Island Hotel is spectacular, with the foyer reaching up to the 7th floor roof in an ever-decreasing oval. Lush tropical plants overhang the balconies, and the Beacon Island Hotel lounge seems to be suspended above the ocean.
When driving from Knysna, take the N2 east towards Port Elizabeth. From Tsitsikamma take the N2 West towards Cape Town. Turn off at Marine Drive or Beacon Way. Stay on this road through Plettenberg Bay town centre - around the circle - drive towards the sea. Cross the lagoon and at the circle, turn left into Pharos Road, then into Beacon Isle Crescent to the parking area outside the Beacon Island Hotel.
