The Red Berry Farm is a firm favourite and people have come from far and wide just to have their picking of the most delicious strawberries on earth. After a hard day of berry picking, guests can unwind at the charming outdoor tea garden or make some other farm purchases at the farm stall. At the Dutch Cheese Farm guests can enjoy the unique experience of cheese and wine tasting.The Garden Route Botanical Gardens is the only botanical garden on the Garden Route. Guests can take a scenic journey via a charming old steam train from George to Knysna called the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe Train. This is the last scheduled steam train in South Africa. After the journey go visit the Transport Museum.
George has some of the best golf courses in South Africa. The George Golf Course is rated in the top 10 in South Africa. Due to excellent weather conditions and gorgeous greens, the course is playable all year round. Fancourt Hotel and Country Club Estate has 3 of the best courses in South Africa and is hosted the prestigious Presidents Cup in 2003.
Victoria Bay, George's local beach is a definite must. With only a few houses around, this beautiful, non commercial beach boast green grass, Whale and Dolphin sightings and excellent surfing and swimming conditions. Guests should also enjoy the hike between Victoria Bay and Wilderness over the Kaaimans Railway Bridge. Travel through the Outeniqua Hop and enjoy scenic farmlands and wonderful views.
On your Garden Route vacation you can go Shark cage diving, bungi jumping, visit Seal Island, go on a exciting game drive or swim at Heralds Bay.
Guests can visit the popular Cango Caves, the Ostrich Farm, the Crocodile Farm as well as the Cango Wildlife Ranch during their Garden Route vacation.
Wilderness and Knysna:
Guests can participate in some adventure sport like paragliding and abseiling. There are exciting hiking trails next to the lagoon, the sea, river and forest. Go kayaking or canoeing.
