Plettenberg Bay, Garden Route is one of the best places for Dolphin and Whale watching. The fine beaches are excellent for swimming and seaside fun and just a short drive from Thanda Vista. A variety of restaurants and shops can be found in the town centre, as well as art and craft outlets. Knysna, which is 30 minutes away, is also popular for shopping.
There are a number of great water based adventures to enjoy in and around Plettenberg Bay. The Keurbooms River is ideal for canoeing, angling and cruising with many pretty picnic spots on the banks. Whales and Dolphins visit this area year round and guests can take an Ocean Safari to get closer to them or for adventures along the coast. Scuba diving is also offered nearby.
Directions from the south (Knysna and Cape Town):
Upon entering Plettenberg Bay, follow the N2 through the traffic circle at Shell Ultra City. Continue towards Port Elizabeth. Turn right into Beacon Way at the Engen Garage. Pass Market Square on the right hand side. Turn left into the first street on the left hand side - Zenon Street. At the T-junction turn left into Plato Street. Go over one speed hump and turn left at the first street - Bird Street. 8 Susan Street (Thanda Vista) is directly ahead at the T-junction.
